Flights of Foundry
A fully virtual, donation-only (free to register!) conference for writers and creators, Flights of Foundry is one of the cooler events out there, in part because the program is developed by the community. I'm excited to be on three panels this year, two of which I'm moderating:
The Long and Short of It: Writing Across
Different Word Lengths on Saturday 9/28 at 5pm ET. We'll be talking about tips, tricks, advice, skill share, and anecdotes about writing short stories, novels, and everything in between.
Oh no, I need a title! on Saturday 9/28 at 7pm ET (Moderating). A good title can add extra layers to a story, but how do you come up with one? Is it different for works of different lengths? We'll share tips and
tricks, and we'll do a title-swap at the end of the session!
Fewer swords, more flyers: Activism and Political Change in SFF on Sunday 9/29 at 9am ET (Moderating). Why do we have so many stories about wars and so few about elections or activism? Let's discuss depictions of political change across mediums, and analyze why political stories so often diverge from political realities.
There's a lot of good stuff on the program, so if you've got time this weekend, I highly recommend checking it out!
For better or worse, I'm going to miss most of the Sunday sessions (or will have to catch the
recordings), because after my morning panel I'm dashing off to...
